Introduction

Agadatantra, is one of the eight clinical branches (Ashtanga) of Ayurveda. This branch of clinical toxicity was reflected as the stalwart of Ayurveda which promoted this science across several civilizations around the world. The subject incorporates the detailed study for several toxicological conditions ranging from animate, inanimate and other disease entities with an inherent toxic pathology that enables to apply the principles of Agadatantra in several diseases of contemporary significance.
Poisons disturbs the homeostasis generated by the three doshas. Agadatantra details measures to re-establish the proper functioning of the dosha, dhatu, mala, srotas and to restore the vital force (Oja). To attain this, a judicious use of Agada formulations is necessary together with specific treatment measures. A thorough knowledge of all these is important to adopt treatment of any poison or to outspread it to any contemporary toxicological conditions.

  • To educate students to understand the subject of Agadtantra evam Vidhi Vaidyaka and its application from Ayurved and Modern science perspective.
  • Application of concepts of Agadtantra in diagnosis as well management of diseases.
  • To Expertise students regarding professional skills of Forensic Medicine, professional and ethical behavior in discharging the medico legal duties and responsibilities.

  • Department is running with regular OPD.
  • Special Ayurveda treatment for specific skin diseases on the basic principles of Dushi Visha, Gara visha & aam Visha.
  • IPD facilities, also available in hospital with well-trained doctors.
